Woodlands Walk on Packard Trail, Buckfield

Acadia National Park’s Hawk Watch on Cadillac Mountain has recently become a collaborative effort between the park’s Interpretive Division and Schoodic Institute’s Bird Ecology Program. The 2014 monitoring effort begins on Aug. 18th and will continue through October with daily coverage from 9 AM – 2 PM daily, weather permitting. In addition to hawks, observers will be keeping track of hummingbirds, butterflies and dragonflies. You’ll start at the top of the Skidway Lift and zip your way over Gondi Brook and across the path of the former Sugarloaf Gondola, all while strapped in securely 20-30 feet above the ground. Off-road Segway tours will be available during the entire Great Maine Outdoor Weekend from Friday, September 26 - Sunday, September 28.
Experience Sugarloaf like never before aboard a Segway Personal Transport. This unique adventure will get you off the pavement and onto some of Sugarloaf’s trails for an off-road experience quite unlike any other. $20/person for 20 minutes; $59/person for a 90-minute guided tour. Segway tours will start from The Outpost Adventure Center located in the Sugarloaf village. Noyes Mountain Hike, Greenwood

A rare treat. We will hike 1 mile up moderately sloped twitch trails to the Harvard mine and a spectacular viewpoint overlooking Patch Mountain, McIntire Ridge, Norway Lake, and North Pond.
